Fred Tibbitts’ Third Annual Fall Evening in Hong Kong

With Very Special Friends

Another Great Success

Thirty-eight top people (Including the following: Owners, c.e.o.’s and operational directors of world-renowned hotel chains; industry press; and FTA wine, beer and spirits partners) assembled for a black tie evening at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 1 November 2002.  This was the Third Annual Fred Tibbitts & Associates Fall Evening in Hong Kong with Very Special Friends.

The reception was sponsored by Moet-Hennessy Asia, and featured Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial and by The Hong Kong SAR Brewing Company, and featured Hong Kong Gold Premium Lager and Hong Kong I.P.A. Dragon’s Back.  Guests were ceremonially announced upon arrival Royal Court style by crier with mace magnanimous.

Christian and Buddhist prayers, followed by a dozen Loyalty Toasts, preceded the four-course dinner.  Mark Lettenbichler, Chairman, Hong Kong Hotels Association, led these toasts.

The culinary team at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong did a masterful job preparing a bountiful feast of marinated king prawn, veal tenderloin with foie gras, a trio of cheese and finally grapefruit pancake with vanilla sauce and blue ginger ice cream: All paired perfectly by Harriet Lembeck, New York senior wine educator, with ultra-premium wines from Australia, Italy, California, Chile and Argentina.

Mary Gostelow, President, Gostelow Travel, Hottest Hospitality News Worldwide and Editor-In-Chief of WOW, What Others Want, presented the 2002 Fred Tibbitts & Associates Hospitality Award for Excellence as a Humanitarian to Ambrose W. S. Cheung, while Professor Kam-hon Lee, Director, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, announced a scholarship in Cheung’s name at the University: Cheung then presented the first such Award to an outstanding graduate student at the University, Eric Ying-kit Lee.
