FTA Sixth Annual Fall Evening in Hong Kong

With Very Special Friends


Another Success

 

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, OCTOBER 19, 2006 Hong Kong-SAR – The Sixth Annual Fred Tibbitts & Associates (FTA) “A Fall Evening in Hong Kong with Very Special Friends” proved a memorable evening for the fortunate fifty plus guests who attended this annual FTA spectacular.

 

All guests at the reception, held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, were formally introduced and chimed.  The guest list included some of the region’s top, corporate hospitality executives, hotel general managers, directors of food & beverage as well as numerous Hong Kong-based Consul Generals.  Those present included Gordon Fuller, General Manager, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong; John Berndt, Vice President of Operations, Marco Polo Hotels; Martin Jones, Senior Director of Food & Beverage, Asia Pacific, Starwood Hotels & Resorts; Christoph Zbinden, Group Director of Food & Beverage, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Tom Mehrmann, Chief Executive, Ocean Park Corporation as well as the Consul Generals to Hong Kong from Chile, the Czech Republic, Myanmar and Venezuela.

 

The elegant four-course dinner, prepared by Executive Chef Marco Avitabile and his culinary team, was preceded by International Loyalty Toasts by the Dinner Personalities and many of those most illustrious.

 

The 2006 FTA Hospitality Award for Excellence as a Humanitarian was presented to Dr. Kam-hon Lee, Professor of Marketing and Director, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong by Ambrose W.S. Cheung, Executive Director, Lai Sun Development and Esun Holdings.

 

Nick Gandolfo, Vice President Commercial Banking and Paul White, Manager Premier Centre for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd presented an HSBC bank draft drawn on the account of FTA in the amount of $5,000.00 US to fund a scholarship from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in the name of Dr. Lee.  Dr. Lee then called forward Michelle Cheung, Catering Coordinator, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong and 2005 Graduate, The Chinese University of Hong Kong to be presented with the Kam-hon Lee Scholarship for $5,000.00 US.
