Singapore – “The Fifth Annual Fred Tibbitts & Associates (FTA) A Spring Evening in Singapore with Very Special Friends” proved to be another memorable event for guests, who included ambassadors, hotel executives, presidents, managing directors, regional vice presidents, general managers, the entertainment press and dinner sponsors.

 

The reception was sponsored by Moet Hennessy, Nestle Waters and Phillips Foods and featured Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial, S. Pellegrino, Acqua Panna and a selection of Phillips seafood creations, including Shrimp Money Bag and Crab Cocktail in Sauce Moutard as well as house specialties by the Hilton Singapore.

 

The dinner began with a warm welcome by Fred Tibbitts, Jr., President & CEO and his fiance, Joy Taprakhon, Manager-Asia Pacific of FTA.  Tibbitts next called for the International Loyalty Toasts by among others His Excellency Ambassador Marc Calcoen of the Royal Embassy of Belgium; Minister Surasak Chuasukonthip of the Royal Embassy of Thailand; Jean-Marie Demange of the Embassy of the Republic of France; Martin Jones, Managing Director-Food & Beverage, Asia Pacific, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts; Anchalee Kalmapijit, President, Chiang Mai & North Thailand, Skal International; Gerd Koidl, Vice President of Food & Beverage-Asia Pacific, InterContinental Hotels Group; Alain Mahillon, General Manager, Hilton Singapore; Bruno Yvon, Regional Marketing Director-Asia, Moet Hennessy and Mark Sneed, President, Phillips Foods, USA.

 

The canapés for the Reception and four-course gala dinner was prepared by the Hilton Singapore Executive Chef Thomas Laberer and his team, assisted by Phillips Foods Asia Executive Chef, Michael D’Allura from Australia.  Each course of the dinner was served with wines from Chile, Argentina and France, paired by McCoy Lim, Assistant Director of Banquets and personally selected by Fred Tibbitts, Jr.

 

FTA President & CEO Fred Tibbitts, Jr. announced that the 2007 FTA Hospitality Award for Excellence as a Humanitarian will be presented at the FTA Fall Dinner at Hong Kong at the Grand Hyatt on 19 October to Andrew Jones, Guardian, Sanctuary Resorts.  A scholarship in the amount of $5,000.00 US at the university of hospitality and tourism management of his choice will accompany the Award.  Jones gratefully acknowledged the recognition and outlined the values and motives of Sanctuary Resorts.

 

The evening closed when Hilton Singapore General Manager Alain Mahillon then Summoned the Brigade, led by Hilton Singapore Executive Chef, Thomas Laberer and his team, supported by Michael D’Allura, Phillips Foods Asia Executive Chef.
