Singapore – The Ninth Annual FTA “A Spring Evening in Singapore with Very Special Friends” at the Mandarin Orchard Singapore proved to be another memorable event for the eighty guests, who included two of the FTA 2012 honorees, hotel senior executives, presidents, vice presidents, managing directors, industry VIP’s, industry press and sponsors.

 

The reception was trade show style, showcasing the products and services of the sponsors.  All guests were formally announced by Nicole Chew, Branding & Communications Executive, Mandarin Orchard Singapore and gonged by Daisy Yew, Chief Meritus Ambassador, Mandarin Orchard Singapore.

 

The four-course gala dinner brought Fred Tibbitts, Jr., President & CEO of Fred Tibbitts & Associates, Inc. to the podium, who welcomed the guests and within his opening remarks, urged one and all to do more for those less fortunate.

 

The eleven Loyalty Toasts by several of the dinner’s VIP’s, including Andrew Hickey, Vice President, Meritus Hotels; Roger Lienhard, Senior Vice President, Resorts World Sentosa Singapore; Dean Schreiber, Senior Vice President, Pan Pacific Hotels Group; Peter Knipp, CEO, Peter Knipp Holdings Pte Ltd; Christophe Megel, Chief Executive Officer, At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy; Chris Chan, Dean, Cornell Nanyang Institute; Eve Felder, Managing Director, The Culinary Institute of America, Singapore; Jake Jacob, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Gerard Bertrand Wines; Lionel Kapetanekos, Vice President Institutional, South East Asia & India, Ecolab; Elaine Lek, Director of Group Strategic Planning & Brand Marketing; and Kevin King, Managing Director-China, Micros Financial Services.

 

Fred Tibbitts then announced that FTA was making a donation of USD$500.00 each to UNICEF and UN-HABITAT from a portion of the dinner proceeds.

The menu was superbly crafted and the dinner skillfully prepared by Executive Chef, Martin Braecker; while the wines were artfully paired by famed New York wine educator, Harriet Lembeck, CEO, Wine & Spirits Program.

Christoph Szymanski, Hotel Manager worked behind the scenes the whole dinner, but is not pictured, as he preferred that his Team receive the well-deserved appreciation of the dinner guests with their long, standing ovation and hearty applause.
